Temple Terrace Residents Invited To Join Mayor On Bike Ride

TEMPLE TERRACE, FL — Bicycle enthusiasts are invited to take to the streets of Temple Terrace on March 9 along with Mayor Mel Jurado and other elected officials and vity staff when the City of Temple Terrace hosts its annual Bike with the Mayor Day.

This free event is open to all. Activities begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Family Recreation Complex, 6610 Whiteway Drive.

At 8 a.m., Mayor Jurado will lead riders on a leisurely 3.9-mile ride along the tree-lined streets of Temple Terrace.

There will be light refreshments and giveaways for riders including bicycle helmets and lights, T-shirts, safety information and other items while supplies last.

Bike with the Mayor is held in celebration of Florida Bike Month. At its March 6 meeting, the Temple Terrace City Council issued a proclamation declaring Florida Bike Month in Temple Terrace.


The City of Temple Terrace is co-sponsoring this event with Bike/Walk Tampa Bay (funded by Florida Department of Transportation) and the Center for Urban Transportation Research at the University of South Florida.
